Entering 16 digit numbers with a wiimote is ohh so lame.
If you have an xbox 360 and you don’t already have the Dead Rising demo, grab it immediately. The everything as a weapon gimmick works surprisingly well with most things you expect and quite a few I wouldn’t have imagined. Shopping carts, potted plants, gems[1], guitars[2], benches - most items are fair game. I guess there’s supposed to be some sort of story, but really there’s nothing more to it than the thrill of braining hordes of the undead.
- I’m not sure what purpose this serves other than to demonstrate how funny it is to throw diamonds at zombies
- The chord it plays when you swing this thing around is so damn satisfying
I find Microsoft’s Wii plugging a little strange. Enemy of my enemy motivations aside, why assume that folks have $600 to spend on consoles. Market research be damned - though I will admit that I’m going to be one of those guys who has a 360, a Wii, and no PS3.
In other news, kushal seems to be really happy about google notebook launching. Congrats! Maybe this is what I needed to switch back to firefox from camino.
The Gnarls Barkley album is really good. I wasn’t a big fan of Perfect Imperfections (yes, yes, I still play ‘closet freak’ to this day) but this is really growing on me. It probably helps that I’ve liked the last couple of Danger Mouse albums though.
While the official Sony launch parties were taking place in San Francisco and Manhattan, all across the country mini-launches were transpiring in retail chains. Since I had a PSP pre-ordered at a local gamestop, and I enjoy the company of geeks, I decided to go to the ‘launch party’ at the gamestop in the Arboretum in Austin, Tx.
The title is, of course, inspired by gullible.info. Tomorrow I will write about my experience at the gamestop (Arboretum, Austin, Tx, USA) launch, but for now enjoy the requisite picture.
